Celebrating Achievement

Many of Shiloh’s children have become recognized athletes, musical performers and visual artists. An on-site tutor has consistently enabled Shiloh’s kids to obtain top honors at school. The opportunities for success provide inspiration for these children to believe in themselves, have confidence in their abilities, and take pride in accomplishments.

We have also added two new voactional/extra curricular activities for Shiloh kids!

For the girls, we now have sewing and craft classes. The Shiloh Grandmothers teach the girls the art of sewing and creative craft projects. The girls get to show off their accomplishments with a spring fashion show where the public is invited and the girls model their creations. Scrapbooking classes are being added to the girls' time with the Grandmothers. Donation of Supplies such as decorative paper, 12x12 toploading refill pages, shape punches, and any other supplies would be very much appreciated.

For the boys, our homeparent Dads offer a wood working class to teach the basics of wood working techniques and safety. The boys make projects and also help the Dads to make furniture and items that are needed on the ranch sites. We now also offer training in auto mechanics in our full service auto shop on site.

Shiloh is very proud to announce that Ethan Harris, from Kevin & Denice Blew's home, signed to further his academic and football career at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO Best wishes to Ethan!

Many children who come to live with us feel hopeless. Their situations back home often seem unchangeable and the parents often give up all hope of ever seeing things get better. But we have a God of hope! A God who can provide an atmosphere of love and implant in each young life hope for a better tomorrow. We had one child who teachers had pretty much given up on...her single mother was feeling powerless to give her any help...and the child was becoming more and more depressed and despondent. While she was here at Shiloh, her daily struggles with schoolwork and often the battles within seemed to overtake her. Yet those around her continued to plant "seeds", praying that one day the hope would evolve in full bloom. WIth love and encouragement from her family back home, the seeds began to grow when she returned home to live. Today, she has received her GED (with some fo the highest grades we've ever heard!), she has her driver's license, works in a hospital, and is taking college classes for her CNA license. Seeing what she has been able to accomplish only epitimizes the power of a God of hope!
